A comparison of Marion County (Indiana) school districts shows there is a wide variety of approaches to branding. Comparing wordmarks, illustrated mascots, traditional educational seals, and modern marks, we determined that simple logos are more legible and memorable.


Warren Township wanted to borrow from the equity and brand recognition of Warren Central High School’s premiere athletics program – which is the pride of Indianapolis’ east side community – and lend that to the entire school system.


We were able to create a visual identity that is reminiscent of, but distinctive from, the athletics mark.
